The Weekly Prayer Project

We are launching into "The Weekly Prayer Project" - a challenge to journal, pray, reflect and connect with God. The first week sets it up to remind us that prayer is a gift (not a work). Discover what God is doing in your life through a Scriptural promise each week.

Week 1: Ask Confidently.

If you are attending our in-person service, be sure to stop at the Welcome Center after worship to get a gift bag filled with appreciation for you being here (and information about St. Peter’s.) Take a minute to complete a Connect Card in the seat back and leave it at the Welcome Center so we can welcome you with a gift. - If you are connecting online, fill out a Digital Connect Card so we know you were with us and can provide answers to any questions you may have. Please worship with us again soon.

Join us for more cookies!

The Sunday before and after New Years, we have the annual joy of exchanging Christmas cookies with one another. Don’t run out the door - our Sunday fellowship time is a great opportunity to connect. Grab some coffee, some punch, some treats, some smiles!

Please share your story.

Ready to inspire and encourage others? Tell a story about what the Lord is doing in your life. Did you have a moment where Jesus was at work around you? Did someone ask you a faith question? Did you have an opportunity to show love to a neighbor or a friend? It can be something huge or something very small. A random act of kindness that you were prompted to do? A discussion with a stranger? Share your story. When you do, your Christian friends will be motivated and ready to watch for what Jesus is doing in their lives too.

There are two ways to share your story:

  1. Stop in the Joining Jesus on His Mission discussion at 10:45am Sunday in the Discipleship Room (just to the right as you leave the sanctuary). Come hear what Jesus was up to in the lives of those in our neighborhoods and families over the holidays. We spend time encouraging each other with stories. We watch a brief video to hear examples.

  2. Use the online form by clicking the button below. You and the person you have in mind can be anonymous. We would love to hear about it!

Unlabeled Theatre Company

The young adult actors have been working hard. The props have been prepared by the young artists. The lines have been memorized. The songs have been perfected. The shadow partners have been investing a lot of time. The directors are getting confident.

Now it is time for you to reserve your seat. The shows will run from January 16-25 in St. Paul. Performances will be at a different location: the Gremlin Theatre in St. Paul. The shows run from January 16-25. Rides will be provided from St. Peter’s parking lot on Sunday, January 25 - talk to the Shockeys if interested. (Be aware this show contains adult themes). Unlabled Theatre Company’s mission is to use live theatre to provide performing, vocational, and life skills opportunities for adults (18+) with disabilities. Can’t attend? You can also contribute toward the work of this amazing group of young adults.

In Memory of Pastor Hinz

Pastor Clarence Hinz entered into eternal life on January 1. He served as the 4th pastor of St. Peter’s from 1979-1984. The new School and Parish Education Center was dedicated during his time of service at St. Peter’s. Pastor Hinz served alongside Pastor Miller until he accepted a call to serve as pastor in Michigan.

“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15

St. Peter’s Ornaments

More ornaments are now available. Since 1957 the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church roofline has been identifiable in our community. We want to provide an opportunity to take home a celebration of the roof being replaced this past summer so the next generation can gather to worship and learn. It will also help us move toward our goal of paying off the Church Improvement Loan needed for the roof replacement.

The goal of our “Raise the Roof” campaign is to pay off our debt of $150,000 by the end of 2027. If you would like an ornament, the suggested donation is $100.

The ornament was custom designed by Alex Wheeler. It has a light and can be hung or remove the string and place it on a desktop year-round. The battery is replaceable.

Thank you for supporting our campaign.

It is not too late to return your “Raise the Roof” pledge card.

We have had a great response to our campaign to pay down our Church Improvement Loan taken out to replace our roof. The loan was for $150,000 and all gifts will pay down the loan principal.

Please make a pledge to be contributed in 2026 and 2027. You can make a recurring gift weekly, monthly, or annually. Many have chosen to set up automatic donations online. Would you help us reach our ministry goal? Bring back your pledge card in the New Year and place it in the offering basket - or send your commitment to info@stpetersedina.org. Pledge Cards are available at the Welcome Center.

The beautiful sanctuary and functional school building has served generations and with a new roof we know that more will enjoy worship and Christian education for a long time.

Ready to Serve in 2026?

There is a group of St. Peter’s members who have been serving our Edina community by delivering meals through the Crosstown Meals on Wheels organization. We could use some more drivers to pick up meals at Normandale Lutheran Church at 10:45 AM and deliver them to Edina locations on the 4th Monday of each month. The routes generally take less than 2 hours to complete, so it’s not a huge time commitment. If you’d like to join us in performing this vital community service, please call or text Rich Licht at 612-804-7108 or e-mail rjlicht@msn.com.

Contribute in the Basket, Online, or by Mail

We encourage you to join us in the excitement of generous giving and watch what God is doing in our community and around the world. There is a basket just inside the main entryway if you would like to contribute - go to the giving options on the website by clicking the button below. Perhaps you want to support our ongoing ministry, give to the Mission Fund, or specifically help with the Facility Fund, the Gym Fund, or the Raise the Roof Campaign. Wherever and however you give, you will partner with God to bless others.

Together we meet families at the intersection of faith and real life.
