Coincidence? We don’t think so!

God knows what is going on in your life. We have been praying for YOU and here you are!

Not sure what you’ve been facing recently but we know God has a message of acceptance and encouragement just for you.

If you are attending our in-person service, be sure to stop at the Welcome Center after worship to get a gift bag filled with appreciation for you being here. Please take a minute to complete a Connect Card in the seat back and share it with the smiling person behind the Welcome Center so we can welcome you with a gift.

If you are connecting online, we’d be happy to get a gift bag to you too. Fill out a Digital Connect Card and be sure to indicate that you would like the gift bag. Please come again soon.

It’s OK that I’m not OK!

Discover the relief that comes from telling God that you're not OK. By looking at common struggles like anxiety, depression, inadequacy, guilt, and conflict, find how God will help you experience peace, joy, hope, and love no matter what struggle you are going through. So it's okay to tell God when you are struggling.

This week and the Sundays in May, we will be taking an honest look at the struggles we all face. Got any? Thought so!

If you want to go a little deeper into what the Bible says and get some support from others, come join us for the Bible Study at 10:45am led by Pastor Mark. The themes go along with the message for each week. We just take our time in the Bible. You are welcome to attend - in the Discipleship Room down at the far end of the Commons to the right as you leave the sanctuary. Grab something to drink and some treats. Eating is encouraged! We’ve got a Bible waiting for you.

Joining Jesus

How to be an everyday missionary. Sound interesting? Joining Jesus on His Mission will alter the way you see your life as a follower of Jesus and take you beyond living your life for Jesus to living life with Jesus. Simple, powerful and applicable insights show you how to be on mission and recognize where Jesus is already at work in your neighborhoods, workplaces and schools. You will feel both relief and hope. You may even hear yourself say, “I can do this!” as you start responding to the everyday opportunities Jesus is placing in your path.

It all starts with the book. We have a copy for you! Pick one up today. Hop on the Zoom book discussion on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:00pm. Interested? How do you participate? Grab a book at the Welcome Center. Read chapter 14-17 for discussion this week then join us by clicking on the video link below.

After reading the book and seeing how Jesus is “messing with you,” you are invited to a workshop in St. Paul on Tuesday & Wednesday May 13-14 where we will sit down in the neighborhood of the authors and be challenged to be everyday missionaries. The workshop will run from 1pm to 8pm each day and will include dinner both days. We will carpool together from St. Peter’s. Yes, it is a big commitment, but what could be more important than building the Kingdom of God one family at a time?

Ready? Contact Pastor Mark for more information or express your interest. mshockey@stpetersedina.org

We (Really) Accomplished So Much!

With a small army a couple weeks ago, we crossed off 3 pages of to do projects. And the hard work is very visible. Somehow, for some reason, the copy machine keeps printing new lists!!!??? How does it know? Didn’t we just do this? Well… yes. But there are 4 more pages of checkboxes.

Just so the 20+ people who helped out don’t feel unappreciated, we want to report that they worked themselves to exhaustion. And the elevator was a little tired after all the scrap metal that was hauled outside! [And no, as tempting as it is, we won’t show the picture of a classroom full of volunteers sitting around the tables in a classroom with a cup of coffee and a donut in hand. You deserved your break time. And honestly, you work harder and longer than Hennepin County construction crews who have been working on building 6 bus stops on France Avenue for 3 years!!! At least we didn’t close down traffic for weeks on end.]

Anyway, in all seriousness, we need you. And your friends. and, well, any living beings you can find to drag along with you. We had a very strong muscular 3-year-old superhero who helped out last time, so there is no age limit on either end. Even our gray-haired pastor logged 20,000 steps that Saturday. Yes, we honestly have a task for anyone and everyone. Saturday, May 17 starting at 9:30 with supervision (or 6am unsupervised). The task list is already prepared and waiting!!!

Gym Update

  1. Gym floor refinishing (done)

  2. Behind the curtain purging (done)

  3. Gym Fundraising (ongoing) We need to purchase paint and the 2nd installment for refinishing is due in July

  4. Gym Ceiling Painting (waiting for bids / donations)

  5. Painting Prep Begins (Saturday May 17)

Is that your thing? Maybe paint rollers don’t float your boat, but have you ever tried it with joyful conversation in a gymnasium with an echo? Spectacular experience. You won’t be disappointed. Trust us!

When? The same Facility Work Day on May 17. We just know you sports people may not be attracted to dirty windows and dusty ceiling tiles and carpet machines - but spending a morning in the gym? That may just work. If you are THAT person, do we have a brush (scrub or paint) with your name on it. Yes, you can use the same Volunteer button above - just note “gym” on the form. Can’t wait to work out with ya’ll. Seriously.
