Read Proverbs in June…
A wise man in the Bible often refers to an individual who possesses not only knowledge and understanding but also the ability to apply this knowledge to life. Today we give thanks to God for the fathers who have impacted our lives. We pray they continually seek the guidance and direction of Biblical wisdom.
If you are attending our in-person service, be sure to stop at the Welcome Center after worship to get a gift bag filled with appreciation for you being here. Please take a minute to complete a Connect Card in the seat back and share it with the smiling person behind the Welcome Center so we can welcome you with a gift.
If you are connecting online, fill out a Digital Connect Card so we know you were with us and can provide answers to any questions you may have. Please worship with us again soon.
The Book of Proverbs
The book of Proverbs was originally written to a young man by his elder in an attempt to pass down both godly wisdom and instruction. How can followers of Jesus build their lives on a foundation of wisdom? What does the book of Proverbs say about how we live our daily life?
Want to go deeper? We have a Sunday Morning Bible Class that will look at Proverbs in more depth and give you the opportunity to connect, share your thoughts, and find answers together. It happens right after the service at 10:45am. Grab some coffee and treats and come on into the Discipleship Room at the end of the Commons area just to the right when you exit the sanctuary. JOIN US AT 10:45 SUNDAY
A Proverb a Day
We’d like to challenge you to read through the Book of Proverbs in June. It is easy. Read one chapter a day. Let’s open our Bibles together and work through one chapter of the book of Proverbs every day. This week read Proverbs 8 on June 8, 9 on the 9th, etc. Click the button below to print out the sheet to record the one proverb that stands out to you each day. Ready to see the difference it makes to live with Wisdom every day?
Bring your completed cards (as many as you recorded) with you next Sunday, June 22 for our Celebration of Wisdom! You will be invited to share one of your proverbs.
New St. Peter’s Grieving Group Begins on Tuesday
We’d like to invite you to a gathering of very special people here at St. Peter’s who are familiar with sadness. We have several individuals who are grieving the loss of a spouse in the last months or years. This summer, you are invited to be part of a group of men and women who have experienced the unique sadness of living after the death of a husband or a wife.
WHO? Pastor Mark is gathering a group of men and women who have experienced the sadness of living after the death of a husband or a wife.
WHAT? Bringing people together to discuss what they are going through and comfort others facing the same.
WHERE? We will begin here at St. Peter’s (but there is flexibility around gathering places)
WHEN? Beginning in the afternoon of Tuesday, June 17, 2:00-3:00pm
WHY? We need others to remind us that until we are reunited in heaven one day, we can live with hope.
If you are interested or want more information, there is a sign up on the Welcome Center or click the link below.
And feel free to invite others who have had a shared experience with you.

Join the STP KIDS Team!
Wisdom is imparted at St. Peter’s week after week after week after week. Kids absorb Biblical wisdom. Yes, it is taught - but it is more effectively caught! That is where you come in. When kids see faith lived out in others, they have examples. That is the STP KIDS learning model! You have seen the excitement as our STP KIDS head out every week for an active time of learning.
With Summer upon us, we want to invite you to an exciting serving opportunity with STP KIDS. We love welcoming parents to experience God’s love alongside their kids while volunteering with our ministry! Come e a part of your child’s spiritual journey today and have a ton of fun doing it. You don’t need to be a parent either. Just think what happens when you give the gift of 20 minutes of adult quiet to worn out parents. If it is a total mess
The process is simple. Everything you need is provided. The theme (same as our Sunday worship theme); the Bible verse; a Bible story (read or watched - think Hey-O); some activities (supplies are ready in the room); some active fun (kids have an abundance of energy); even a repeat prayer. You simply show up and pull it all together with a smile on your face. What a great investment of 20 minutes. You can help once a month (or more or less). Ready to learn more? Just follow the kids out on a Sunday morning and watch what happens. Ms Jenna helps the most - just ask her about what it is like.
STP KIDS has older kids built in who help with the little kids. You can also team up with another adult. One volunteer even watches the video message on Saturday night so she feels confident about the theme. Go ahead, there is nothing like sharing your faith to put a skip in your step.
Summer Bridge to Success!
Each summer the staff and kids at Trinity First Lutheran School in downtown Minneapolis are equipped with many diverse tools from God to do good works in Jesus’ name. They learn how they are Under Construction as they grow and learn. The daily schedule starts with an opening chapel, then classroom time for reading, writing & math with their teacher. After lunch, students will have sectionals including Construction Zone (building bookends and birdhouses), Art Center, Outside Fun, and some Field Trips.
They are in need of 120 shirts that are also uniform shirts during the school year. The cost is $10 each. If you would like to contribute, mark your gift Trinity First. What a great opportunity for our St. Peter’s family to share God’s love and support with other students.
Ministry Support
We encourage you to join us in the excitement of generous giving to see what God is doing in our community and around the world. There is a basket near the main entryway if you would like to contribute or go to the giving options on the website by clicking the button below. Perhaps you want to support the Mission Fund, or give specifically to the Facility Fund or the Gym Fund. Wherever and however you give, you will partner with God to bless others.
Together we meet families at the intersection of faith and real life.
