Godly Homes…
where we bear good fruit.
“I am the vine; you are the branches…” John 15:5
Staying connected to Jesus makes for a peace filled, helpful home. On our own we are selfish, only looking out for ourselves - but when we are connected to Jesus, the Vine - then we reflect His character in the way we live and treat others.
St. Peter’s is praying for our family of faith because your home is located at the intersection of faith & real life.
Millions of Christians don’t vote.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd. Issues important to Christians are on the ballot, yet many may choose to stay home. Statistics show an estimated 40 million Christians typically sit out elections. If believers would vote their values, America would be more closely aligned with Biblical principles.
Look at any church, any given Sunday. Half of that group is not registered to vote. And then split half of that again, so now we're down to a quarter. That's how many Christians who gather on any given Sunday are actually going to vote.
Christians do engage in politics, and we do so vigorously, not because we think that politics is our top priority, but because we wish to hold dear things that are more sacred. And it was such thought that animated the American founding, and it is why socialists of every stripe see genuine Christianity not as a societal good, but as the enemy of the state that they wish to be all in all. We are a country founded on principles that lead us to proclaim: In God we trust.
Meals on Wheels Empty Bowls Event
St. Peter’s has provided volunteers for Meals on Wheels for years. Empty Bowls is an event that brings the community together to share a meal of homemade soup, bread and dessert donated by local restaurants out of handmade bowls, donated by local artists. Community members eat together and take a beautiful bowl home as a reminder of our neighbors who need food and shelter.
You are invited! This event will support the Crosstown Meals on Wheels goal, to continue to improve the health and quality of life of seniors and others in need by providing nourishment and social connection. Come enjoy our community.
Sunday, November 8th
10:30am-2:30pm

Jellyfish: An Unlabeled Theatre Co. Production
Unlabeled Theatre is thrilled to announce the U.S. premiere of JELLYFISH by Ben Weatherill.
Agnes and her daughter Kelly have walked the same stretch of Skegness Beach every day for 15 years. They devour ice cream, hunt for crabs and watch as things mysteriously vanish along the shoreline. But when Kelly meets Neil, their cozy world soon begins to unravel. With her mum struggling to understand the needs of a maturing daughter with Down syndrome, Kelly and Neil have to fight for their right to be together. While Agnes and Kelly drift further and further apart, an event is coming that will change all of their lives forever.
With a much smaller cast than most Unlabeled Theatre Company performances, it is very real and mature themed look at life through the eyes of a family going through life change.
Experience the joy of Jesus through packing shoeboxes
Go shopping, searching for practical and fun items that will bless a child who has next to nothing. Pick up a box today and pack it with school supplies, toys, dolls, clothing, and other items to fill every nook and cranny of the box.
“If this box is representing Jesus’ love for them, then we want to make sure that it’s quality so that they realize that God really loves them,” said one box packer. Get in on the joy!
Bring your box back to St. Peter’s by Sunday, November 22.
Christmas Poinsettias
St. Peter’s Raise the Roof Christmas Poinsettia Sale. We will have poinsettias that can beautiful our sanctuary AND you can give as a hostess gift. Bachman’s is known for quality plants.
Raise the Roof contributions continue faithfully a year into our campaign to pay off our facility improvement loan for the roof replacement. It is time to add some fun back into the effort!
Order forms will be available next Sunday. You can pick up our items on a selected Sunday or after the service on Christmas Eve with the confidence that a portion of your purchase has enabled people to gather to worship the Christ Child with a dry roof overhead!
Need peace around your finances?
It is an honest question. Call it the economy; call it poor money management; call it temptation; call it lack of restraint; call it an opportunity that was just too good to pass up. There are many reasons you may have concerns about your personal finances. What about higher interest rates? What about having enough for retirement? What about credit card debt that seem impossible to pay down?
We want to help the St. Peter’s community trust God with every bill. We have held Financial Peace University classes in the past and are assessing “interest” in offering a weekly Financial Peace University class this fall. Many families today are carrying financial stress, and this course—built on biblical principles of stewardship—provides practical tools for budgeting, saving, eliminating debt, and building a stronger financial foundation.
If you or your family would benefit from a Christ‑centered approach to managing finances, let us know if you are interested in learning more about attending this biblically-based class that’s helped millions beat debt, build wealth, and give like never before, please let us know. No need to be concerned - the Shockeys first took it in the midst of struggling with debt while raising a family. Mark & Joann admit they continually need to keep an eye on their finances! Join them as they facilitate this class.
Church & School Staff
It is open enrollment season in the health care world. A perfect opportunity to let the St. Peter’s family know how much we appreciate the support and care you provide through your generosity. Our workers in the church and ECEC receive health care through the Concordia Plans, the benefit department of the LCMS. Some workers opt out because they receive health care through a spouse or family.
We want you to know that we don’t take this benefit for granted. Our plans offer preventive health care, vision, dental, and even provide for mental health. Young and old, healthy and sick, we are cared for generously. Thank you for enabling us to serve as workers in the Kingdom sharing the hope of Jesus with our community!
Bear Fruit…
God’s forgiven people who have discovered God’s mercy and grace share that joy with others. You do that face to face with people you know, but you are also invited to share the Gospel by supporting our community ministries.
To give today, go to the giving options on the website by clicking the button below. Wherever and however and whenever you give, you will partner with God to bless others.
Together we meet families at the intersection of faith and real life.
