Joining Jesus as a Family
The next part of our “Joining Jesus” series will run through the Holidays. It is called “Joining Jesus as a Family.” God has blessed His creation through families. We all have one. Some great memories - some not so great. But God continues to bless us through families. Christian parents want to raise their children to be life-long followers of Jesus. But many parents watch their children grow up, leave home, and then walk away from the faith. What went wrong? And how can a new generation of parents avoid the same result?
The messages through November and December will help you weave Jesus’ discipleship process into the rhythm of your family’s everyday life in very practical ways. How to live the fulfilling life of a Jesus-follower as a parent, grandparent, foster parent, family member, volunteer, mentor, friend.
If you are attending our in-person service, be sure to stop at the Welcome Center after worship to get a gift bag filled with appreciation for you being here (and information). Please take a minute to complete a Connect Card in the seat back and leave it at the Welcome Center so we can welcome you with a gift. If you are connecting online, fill out a Digital Connect Card so we know you were with us and can provide answers to any questions you may have. Please worship with us again soon.
Thanksgiving Brunch - Sunday Morning
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 105
It is time to give thanks. You are invited to join us the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving for a pot blessing meal. Join us downstairs for a breakfast favorite, a lunch staple, some fruit, some dessert. The variety is what makes the thanksgiving great!
It will be an opportunity to celebrate together with friends new and old, followed by a facility workday (good way to burn off those calories!)
Bring some old clothes…
Following our Brunch, stick around for some clean up / fix up projects. There are big tasks and simple tasks. I’m sure you will find just the right size project for you. A great way for the family of faith to come together - eat a feast - then work side by side.
Operation Christmas Child
St. Peter’s will be partnering with Operation Christmas Child to deliver great joy and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children all around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes. Each box packed full of quality toys, school supplies, and personal care items becomes a tangible expression of God's immense love for each child. For many, it is their first gift ever! You can even pack a box online HERE for $30 (let us know if you do one online so we can include it in our count!) Collection day is Tomorrow morning, Monday, November 24.
Please share your story.
Ready to inspire and encourage others? Tell a story about what the Lord is doing in your life. Did you have a moment where Jesus was at work around you? Did someone ask you a faith question? Did you have an opportunity to show love to a neighbor or a friend? It can be something huge or something very small. A random act of kindness that you were prompted to do? A discussion with a stranger? Share your story. When you do, your Christian friends will be motivated and ready to watch for what Jesus is doing in their lives too.
Mission Study - Sunday Mornings
You are welcome to join us for a discussion of the Joining Jesus on His Mission book on Sunday mornings at 10:45am in the Discipleship Room. We will go through Pastor Greg & Susan Finke’s book, so be sure to pick up a copy on the Welcome center and bring the book with you. We will view a video by the authors each week to kick off our discussion.
NOTE: We will not meet this week so we can enjoy the Thanksgiving Brunch while the food is still hot!
What makes this so powerful is that when we notice Jesus is at work around us, we have a story. And that story encourages and will help others in the class not only celebrate with you but be better prepared to see what Jesus is doing themselves. How empowering is that? Know this: Jesus is busy getting the attention of those in your “neighborhoods.” So, are you ready to be an everyday missionary? It is much, much easier than you think.
St. Peter’s is investing in you as a missionary. Pick up a copy free of charge today.

Want to make sure you have heard all the messages? When you can’t be with us, be sure to visit our website to watch the week’s message. The recorded message is usually very similar to the live message on Sunday morning. It is released at 5pm every Saturday. It is by demand - which means you can listen/watch any time you want. And if you miss a message in a series you can get caught up. (Be sure to click on “subscribe” to see new messages when released).
The most watched message of this series? “Jesus Invites You on His Mission.”
