Words, Words, Words…

Words - what power they have! We can listen to words of wisdom — or we can ignore them. What we understand and what we speak makes all the difference in our lives. This is the place to begin. And we are glad you are here to begin this discovery with us!

If you are attending our in-person service, be sure to stop at the Welcome Center after worship to get a gift bag filled with appreciation for you being here. Please take a minute to complete a Connect Card in the seat back and share it with the smiling person behind the Welcome Center so we can welcome you with a gift.

If you are connecting online, fill out a Digital Connect Card so we know you were with us and can provide answers to any questions you may have. Please worship with us again soon.

The Book of Proverbs

The book of Proverbs was originally written to a young man by his elder in an attempt to pass down both godly wisdom and instruction. How can followers of Jesus build their lives on a foundation of wisdom? What does the book of Proverbs say about how we live our daily life?

Want to go deeper? We have a Sunday Morning Bible Class that will look at Proverbs in more depth and give you the opportunity to connect, share your thoughts, and find answers together. It happens right after the service at 10:45am. Grab some coffee and treats and come on into the Discipleship Room at the end of the Commons area just to the right when you exit the sanctuary.

A Proverb a Day

We’d like to challenge you to read through the Book of Proverbs in June. It is easy. Read one chapter a day. Let’s open our Bibles together and work through one chapter of the book of Proverbs every day. Start with chapter 1 on June 1, chapter 2 on June 2, etc. Click the button below to print out the sheet to record the one proverb that stands out to you each day. Hold on to them and then we will have a Celebration of Wisdom on Sunday, June 22 where you will be invited to share one of your proverbs. Ready to see the difference it makes to live with Wisdom every day?

New St. Peter’s Grieving Group Forming in June

We’d like to invite you to a gathering of very special people here at St. Peter’s who are familiar with sadness. We have several individuals who are grieving the loss of a spouse in the last months or years. This summer, you are invited to be part of a group of men and women who have experienced the unique sadness of living after the death of a husband or a wife.

WHO?     Pastor Mark is gathering a group of men and women who have experienced the sadness of living after the death of a husband or a wife.
WHAT?    Bringing people together to discuss what they are going through and comfort others facing the same.
WHERE? We will begin here at St. Peter’s (but there is flexibility around gathering places)
WHEN?   Beginning in the afternoon of Tuesday, June 17, 2:00-3:00pm
WHY?      We need others to remind us that until we are reunited in heaven one day, we can live with hope.

If you are interested or want more information, there is a sign up on the Welcome Center or click the link below.

And feel free to invite others who have had a shared experience with you.

Congregational Assembly

During our Spring Voters’ Assembly, we prepare for the new ministry year. At this meeting we will present the Ministry Plan for 2025-2026 along with the Budget to support our ministry efforts. We will also be launching a capital campaign for our roof replacement. At the November meeting we approved financing through LCEF. Now it is time to prepare for payments that will begin soon.

The meeting will be held in the sanctuary Sunday, June 8 at 11:00am. There will be no Bible Class that morning.

Attention STP KIDS!

Are you ready for some outside fun? We are hosting a Family Campfire in the grassy playground area on Sunday, June 8 at 5:00pm.

We will have the grill out, games ready, a family activity, crafts to work on, and of course smores!

Kick off your summer with your STP KID friends and families. And if you don’t have little people, but enjoy hanging out with little people, you are also welcome to join us. It will be a memorable experience.

Teacher Appreciation

St. Peter’s showed appreciation for our teachers in the month of May. So many of you provided $10 gift cards for our teachers. We were able to provide something special each day. Monday was a gift pack with “Serving With a Heart Like Jesus” including a devotion book, seed packet, and a cross; Tuesday was ice cream and target gift cards for every teacher; Wednesday was a parent appreciation luncheon; Thursday was gift card drawing day with the teachers who have been here the longest getting to select first; finally, Friday was a pizza party and prayer day for the teachers.

Thank you for showing love for our teachers who share Jesus with children and families every day. Your encouragement makes a difference at a time when elementary teachers are celebrating the end of the year and taking the summers off. Our ECEC teachers serve 12 months a year - it is so important they know they are appreciated especially at this time of year. Many will be taking well deserved PTO vacations during the summer months. A big thank you to Jenna and Joan who cover classrooms!

Summer Bridge to Success!

Each summer the staff and kids at Trinity First Lutheran School in downtown Minneapolis are equipped with many diverse tools from God to do good works in Jesus’ name. They learn how they are Under Construction as they grow and learn. The daily schedule starts with an opening chapel, then classroom time for reading, writing & math with their teacher. After lunch, students will have sectionals including Construction Zone (building bookends and birdhouses), Art Center, Outside Fun, and some Field Trips.

They are in need of 120 shirts that are also uniform shirts during the school year. The cost is $10 each. If you would like to contribute, mark your gift Trinity First. What a great opportunity for our St. Peter’s family to share God’s love and support with other students.

Ministry Support

We encourage you to join us in the excitement of generous giving to see what God is doing in our community and around the world. There is a basket near the main entryway if you would like to contribute or go to the giving options on the website by clicking the button below. Perhaps you want to support the Mission Fund, or give specifically to the Facility Fund or the Gym Fund. Wherever and however you give, you will partner with God to bless others.

Together we meet families at the intersection of faith and real life.
