The Weekly Prayer Project
Week 32: IMPOSSIBLE PRAYERS
In 2026 we are following "The Weekly Prayer Project" - a challenge to journal, pray, reflect, and connect with God. Discover what God is doing in your life through a Scriptural promise each week. Be sure to pick up a book at the Welcome Center or request one at prayer@stpetersedina.org.
Fill out a Connect Card so we know you were with us and can provide answers to questions you may have. Please worship with us again soon.
Baptism
What a joy filled day to welcome Dorothy into God’s family today. May the Lord’s blessing be upon the McManus home. Her parents are Matt & Amanda and her older siblings are Mabel and Winston.
If you are interested in exploring baptism for you or your family, please complete a comment card and we will be in touch or speak with Pastor Mark today. He offers an opportunity to sit down together and discuss the sacrament of baptism.
Godly Homes…
where questions are freely asked. We ask each other, and often ask God in faith.
“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” – Matthew 21:22
St. Peter’s is praying for our family of faith because your home is located at the intersection of faith and real life.
Every generation benefits from asking in prayer. Remind one another how important it is to do!
Prayer Bible Study This Morning
Prayer is a powerful weapon! For the next 4 weeks, our Sunday Bible Class will include short clips from the movie and discussion of challenging Scriptural lessons about the power of prayer.
Even if you didn’t watch the movie screening, the Bible study will still be beneficial. Join us at 10:45am in the Discipleship Room just to the right as you leave the sanctuary.
MN South District Prayers
This week, St. Peter’s was included in the prayers of the District office staff:
“Grace, peace, and joy to you from your brothers and sisters in Christ.
Today, we lifted your congregation, staff, and leaders in prayer during our morning devotions.
We are thankful for your partnership in building God’s kingdom. May God bless you as you connect people to Jesus.”

The Global Leadership Summit
Pastor Mark and Jenna, our Early Childhood Director attended a leadership conference in early August. Please pray for them as they continue to lead our church and school - that they would encourage and build up other disciples in our ministry as they live out the purpose they were made for!
Influence isn’t reserved for a few. it isn’t limited by title or position. Everyone has influence.
Community Connection Story
Two weeks ago, Pastor Mark was asked to lead a memorial service for a family he connected with at Elko Speedway. About 200 people attended and heard a message of hope through the promise of eternal life as a gift from Jesus.
Pastor Mark extends the work of our church to people in our community through his NASCAR Chaplaincy, Rotary leadership, volunteering with veterans, Youth Impact Racing, City of Edina committee work, talking to neighbors from the playground, and simply by extending a smile to many who rent the gym or other rooms here at St. Peter’s.
Don’t underestimate what happens when YOU join Jesus on His mission. He is at work in the lives of people all around you. Look for how you, too, can step in and serve others.
“The image of someone with a disability healing someone else with a disability is powerful.”
While you wait for season 6 of The Chosen, here is a glimpse of one of the behind-the-scenes stories of James the little.
Jordan Walker Ross plays Little James in The Chosen, but his disability in the show is no act. Born with cerebral palsy and scoliosis, Jordan has sometimes questioned God just like his character. But in this video he answers, “If you had the opportunity to be healed this very moment, would you?” and it may surprise you.
Thank God for the compassion He has given St. Peter’s to reach out to young adults in our community with disabilities.
Responding in Wisconsin, Illinois after tornado, severe storms hit
Lutheran Church Charities staff and volunteers immediately deployed to Wisconsin and across Northern Illinois this week to bring disaster response assistance and spiritual care after severe storms with hail and an EF-3 tornado hit causing widespread damage across both states. Extensive damage throughout the Fox River Valley and Lake Winnebago, especially the towns of Appleton and Menasha, including homes destroyed, trees split and shredded, and debris everywhere. Spiritual First Aid™-trained volunteers to join them in caring for homeowners shaken by the storm, bringing care, compassion, and the presence of Christ to these hurting communities.
