Announcements (10-11-26)

Welcome!

Tired? Always feeling like you should be doing more? That's the message of our culture: do more, achieve more, become more.

But God's message is different: Return and rest.

Take a moment for God to remind you that you don't have to carry the world on your shoulders. He is your Provider. He is your Protector. He is your Savior. And because Jesus has already accomplished everything necessary for your salvation, you can stop striving to earn God's love.

Stop always being exhausted trying to prove you're enough. Return to God and find the freedom of rest.

Weekly Prayer Project

We are in week 41 in our year-long prayer guides. Remember, all the messages in this series are available on the St. Peter’s YouTube Channel.

Pick up a complimentary copy of the Prayer Project to take with you. Our desire is for you to discover the power of a life of prayer!

Watch/listen to the current or previous messages on your own at a convenient time. Perfect for a walk or listening during a long commute. Start or end the day with a little reflection and prayer. Return and rest!

Fall Festival

We will be hosting our Annual Fall Festival on October 29th at 5:00pm. You are invited for a festive evening of dinner, crafts, and classroom trick-or-treating! This year, we will be having another chili cook-off! Do you have a famous recipe you’d love to share? Sign up to bring your best pot of chili or soup for everyone to enjoy. Guests will vote for their favorite, and the winning dish will be crowned Chili Champion 2026! Proceeds for the voting will go toward our gym renovation fund.

Blood Drive

St. Peter's, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Minnesota Veterans, invites you to a blood drive on Thursday, October 22, in our sanctuary. Your donation can save lives, as blood is essential for surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries.

To ensure a smooth experience, please schedule your appointment using the link below. Walk-ins are welcome as time permits. Before donating, remember to hydrate, eat a healthy meal, and bring a photo ID or donor card. After your donation, enjoy complimentary refreshments and rest for a few minutes. Your generosity provides hope and health to patients in need!

Godly Homes…

where Godly rest is encouraged.

“but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.” — Exodus 20:10

Take time to enjoy God’s goodness! Fill your home with moments of rest - change the pace, play a game, take a leisurely walk, call an old friend, turn off the electronics, get outside!

St. Peter’s is praying for our family of faith because your home is located at the intersection of faith & real life.

The Lord’s Prayer Bible Study - Sunday Mornings

Many of us have memorized the Lord’s prayer. But what do the words mean?

If this is the only prayer Jesus taught his followers to pray, it’s worth knowing what it is we are praying! This 6 session study, with video, will take you line by line through this prayer, to discover the meaning and power of each word.

You’ll never pray this prayer the same again!

Join us beginning TODAY on Sundays morning at 10:45am in the Discipleship Room.

Remote Control Racing Ministry on Thursdays

For several years, St. Peter’s has reached our to our community to provide a youth program that provides mentorship, fun, faith development, and learning about cars.

6-16 year olds are welcome to participate. This is a free weekly program that runs for two 8-week seasons. Stop in the gym at 6:30pm to get registered or just come check it out. We are thrilled to have some new students and adult volunteers from the former Burnsville chapter. There is still room for the young racers you know!

Ask Pastor Mark if you have questions - he is one of the weekly leaders. Stop down in the Racing Room downstairs (Rm #005) to check out some of the RC equipment.

How are your finances?

It is an honest question. Call it the economy; call it poor money management; call it temptation; call it lack of restraint; call it an opportunity that was just too good to pass up. There are many reasons you may have concerns about your personal finances. What about higher interest rates? What about having enough for retirement? What about credit card debt that seem impossible to pay down?

We want to help the St. Peter’s community. We have held Financial Peace University classes in the past and are assessing “interest” in offering a weekly Financial Peace University class this fall. Many families today are carrying financial stress, and this course—built on biblical principles of stewardship—provides practical tools for budgeting, saving, eliminating debt, and building a stronger financial foundation.

If you or your family would benefit from a Christ‑centered approach to managing finances, let us know if you are interested in learning more about attending this biblically-based class that’s helped millions beat debt, build wealth, and give like never before, please let us know. No need to be concerned - the Shockeys first took it in the midst of struggling with debt while raising a family. Mark & Joann admit they continually need to keep an eye on their finances! Join them as they facilitate this class.

Continue to Pray for St. Peter’s Students!

We have given them a solid faith foundation through our Early Childhood Education Center & STP KIDS. Every day children face challenges that require them to rely upon the Lord. Please pray for our students in schools all around the metro. May they be attentive and kind. May they be kept safe and challenged. May they set an example of Godly living and patience.

Prayer & Support for Ms Ima

One of our Early Childhood Education Center, Ms. Ima, has blocked and inflamed lymph nodes and has been diagnosed with cancerous lumps in her chest, underarm area, and brain. She began radiation treatments over the last weeks. Even with everything she is going through, Ms. Ima is determined to continue working because being with her students makes her feel better, which says so much about who she is and how much she loves her students. Ms. Ima has made such a lasting impact on our families that parents set up a GoFundMe for her. It is such a sweet indicator of just how loved she is by our St. Peter’s community and how much of an impact the servant of God has made on Students and families.

Fall Volunteering

We are blessed with a wonderful facility with all its nooks and crannies, working and non-working aspects. It is amazing what a little effort can accomplish. Got an hour?

Priority needs while the weather is nice:

  • Grab a shovel and lawn rake and move some gravel under the slides, ladders, and tire swing

  • Pull some weeks along the playground fence

  • clean the lower level windows - especially outside

  • sweep out the outdoor stairwell

  • Find a full list of projects needing attention by clicking the button below

When you see something, you are most welcome to fix it, straighten it, clean it, replace it. Do it immediately, or stop back anytime. We keep a list of interior & exterior projects you can put some effort into whenever works in your schedule. We will happily provide access!

Thanks St. Peter’s Family!
