Joining Jesus as a Family
Our Joining Jesus series will run through the Holidays with “Joining Jesus as a Family.” God has blessed His creation through families. We all have one. Some great memories - some not so great. But God continues to bless us through families. Christian parents want to raise their children to be life-long followers of Jesus. But many parents watch their children grow up, leave home, and then walk away from the faith. What went wrong? And how can a new generation of parents avoid the same result?
The messages through November and December will help you weave Jesus’ discipleship process into the rhythm of your family’s everyday life in very practical ways. How to live the fulfilling life of a Jesus-follower as a parent, grandparent, foster parent, family member, volunteer, mentor, friend.
If you are attending our in-person service, be sure to stop at the Welcome Center after worship to get a gift bag filled with appreciation for you being here (and information about St. Peter’s.) Take a minute to complete a Connect Card in the seat back and leave it at the Welcome Center so we can welcome you with a gift. - If you are connecting online, fill out a Digital Connect Card so we know you were with us and can provide answers to any questions you may have. Please worship with us again soon.
A Christmas Tradition
Rich Licht invites the St. Peter’s family to attend Hanel’s Messiah on Friday and Saturday. St. John’s Music Series offers all people the opportunity to hear great music, performed well. Rich has participated for 14 years! Add this classic musical performance to your holiday schedule. 4842 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis.
Please share your story.
Ready to inspire and encourage others? Tell a story about what the Lord is doing in your life. Did you have a moment where Jesus was at work around you? Did someone ask you a faith question? Did you have an opportunity to show love to a neighbor or a friend? It can be something huge or something very small. A random act of kindness that you were prompted to do? A discussion with a stranger? Share your story. When you do, your Christian friends will be motivated and ready to watch for what Jesus is doing in their lives too.
Did You Know?
There is a small group of St. Peter’s members who have been serving our Edina community by delivering meals through the Crosstown Meals on Wheels organization. We could use some more drivers to pick up meals at Normandale Lutheran Church at 10:45 AM and deliver them to Edina locations on the 4th Monday of each month. The routes generally take less than 2 hours to complete, so it’s not a huge time commitment. If you’d like to join us in performing this vital community service, please call or text Rich Licht at 612-804-7108 or e-mail to rjlicht@msn.com.
STP KIDS Advent Adventure
Our STPKIDS received a family advent tool to share Jesus, the Prince of Peace. There are daily stickers, a big sticker for each Sunday in Advent, and a family activity every day. Remember to use this calendar all through Advent as you join Jesus as a family! Pick one up at the Welcome Center today.
The Joining Jesus Series began in the Summer! We are seeing results!
Want to make sure you have heard all the messages? When you can’t be with us, be sure to visit our website to watch the week’s message. The recorded message is usually very similar to the live message on Sunday morning. It is released at 5pm every Saturday. It is by demand - which means you can listen/watch any time you want. And if you miss a message in a series you can get caught up. (Be sure to click on “subscribe” to see new messages when released).
The most watched message of this series so far? “Joining Jesus as a Family - Again!”
Mission Study - Sunday Mornings
You are welcome to join us for a discussion of the Joining Jesus on His Mission book on Sunday mornings at 10:45am in the Discipleship Room. We will go through Pastor Greg & Susan Finke’s book, so be sure to pick up a copy on the Welcome center and bring the book with you. We will view a video by the authors each week to kick off our discussion.
What makes this so powerful is that when we notice Jesus is at work around us, we have a story. And that story encourages and will help others in the class not only celebrate with you but be better prepared to see what Jesus is doing themselves. How empowering is that? Know this: Jesus is busy getting the attention of those in your “neighborhoods.” So, are you ready to be an everyday missionary? It is much, much easier than you think.
St. Peter’s is investing in you as a missionary. Pick up a copy free of charge today.

In the picture he is enjoying some homemade Thanksgiving pie from his daughter Sarah. Medical issues continue to be a challenge for Dan, but he still shares the joy of the Lord! Send him a note:
