Joining Jesus as a Family

Our Joining Jesus series will run through the Holidays with “Joining Jesus as a Family.” God placed us in a family. We all have one. Some have provided great memories - some not so great. But God continues to bless us through families. Perhaps Christmas can be a fresh start for you and the impact you can have on others in your home and beyond.

The messages through December will help you weave Jesus’ discipleship process into the rhythm of your family’s everyday life in very practical ways. How to live the fulfilling life of a Jesus-follower as a child, parent, grandparent, foster parent, family member, volunteer, mentor, friend.

If you are attending our in-person service, be sure to stop at the Welcome Center after worship to get a gift bag filled with appreciation for you being here (and information about St. Peter’s.) Take a minute to complete a Connect Card in the seat back and leave it at the Welcome Center so we can welcome you with a gift. - If you are connecting online, fill out a Digital Connect Card so we know you were with us and can provide answers to any questions you may have. Please worship with us again soon.

STP KIDS Advent Adventure

Our STPKIDS received a family advent tool to share Jesus, the Prince of Peace. There are daily stickers, a big sticker for each Sunday in Advent, and a family activity every day. Remember to use this calendar all through Advent as you join Jesus as a family! Pick one up at the Welcome Center today.

Every Sunday, kids have an exciting time of active learning together about the same goals. Guests are invited to join in the excitement. Just follow the STPKIDS group when Pastor announces it is time during the worship service.

ECEC Children’s Christmas Program

What could get you ready for Christmas more than the Biblical story of Christ’s birth in story and song as told by children? Join the Early Childhood Education Center for a brief Christmas celebration in the sanctuary. It will be followed by a time of refreshments with hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.

Thursday, 4pm.

Christmas Eve Celebration

Join us on Christmas Eve, December 24 at 4:00pm, for Jesus, The Prince of Peace—a family welcoming service where you will find that the manger holds the very thing you need - peace. Bring your loved ones and experience Christmas Eve in a joyful, memorable, peace filled way.

We hope to see you there! Remember, more people are open to an invitation to church at Christmas than any other time!!!

Mission Study - Sunday Mornings

You are welcome to join us for a discussion of the Joining Jesus on His Mission book on Sunday mornings at 10:45am in the Discipleship Room. We will go through Pastor Greg & Susan Finke’s book, so be sure to pick up a copy on the Welcome center and bring the book with you. We will view a video by the authors each week to kick off our discussion.

What makes this so powerful is that when we notice Jesus is at work around us, we have a story. And that story encourages and will help others in the class not only celebrate with you but be better prepared to see what Jesus is doing themselves. How empowering is that? Know this: Jesus is busy getting the attention of those in your “neighborhoods.” So, are you ready to be an everyday missionary? It is much, much easier than you think.

St. Peter’s is investing in you as a missionary. Pick up a copy free of charge today.

Did You Know?

There is a small group of St. Peter’s members who have been serving our Edina community by delivering meals through the Crosstown Meals on Wheels organization. We could use some more drivers to pick up meals at Normandale Lutheran Church at 10:45 AM and deliver them to Edina locations on the 4th Monday of each month. The routes generally take less than 2 hours to complete, so it’s not a huge time commitment. If you’d like to join us in performing this vital community service, please call or text Rich Licht at 612-804-7108 or e-mail to rjlicht@msn.com.

Please share your story.

Ready to inspire and encourage others? Tell a story about what the Lord is doing in your life. Did you have a moment where Jesus was at work around you? Did someone ask you a faith question? Did you have an opportunity to show love to a neighbor or a friend? It can be something huge or something very small. A random act of kindness that you were prompted to do? A discussion with a stranger? Share your story. When you do, your Christian friends will be motivated and ready to watch for what Jesus is doing in their lives too.

St. Peter’s Ornaments

Since 1957 the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church roofline has been identifiable in our community. This Christmas, we want to provide an opportunity to take home some Christmas joy in celebration of the roof being replaced this past summer so the next generation can gather to worship and learn. It will also help us move toward our goal of paying off the Church Improvement Loan needed for the roof replacement.

The goal of our “Raise the Roof” campaign is to pay off our debt of $150,000 by December 31, 2027.

If you would like to take an ornament home today, the suggested donation is $100.

We are grateful for our artist, Alex Wheeler, who designed and printed them on his 3D printer! The ornaments have a light in them and can be hung from your tree or remove the string and place it on a desktop year-round. Batteries are replaceable.

Thank you for supporting our campaign.

Contribute in the Basket, Online, or by Mail

Wherever and however you give, you will partner with God to bless others.

Together we meet families at the intersection of faith and real life.

Operation Christmas Child

St. Peter’s once again partnered with Operation Christmas Child to deliver great joy and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children all around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes. Each box packed full of quality toys, school supplies, and personal care items becomes a tangible expression of God's immense love for each child. For many, it is their first gift ever! Collection day was last-weekend and we delivered 20 boxes packed with live plus some packed online. If you missed out, you can still pack a box online HERE for $30.
