The Weekly Prayer Project - Sufficient Grace

Welcome!

Did I do something to deserve this?

Why did this happen to me?

Why doesn’t God answer my prayers?

You probably have many questions for God. He isn’t ignoring you. He isn’t punishing you. He isn’t withholding His goodness from you.

Are you ready to be covered with the grace of God?

Sufficient Grace

Pastor: Scripture illustrates that God's grace shines brightest in our weaknesses, providing strength and support when we need it most.
All: "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
Hebrews 4:16

Pastor: God's grace is available in times of trouble:
All: The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Numbers 6:25-26

Pastor: God's grace is not just sufficient; it is abundant and overflowing, equipping us for every good work and challenge we face.
All: And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8

Pastor: Approach God confidently, knowing that His grace is always available to help in times of need.
All: And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
1 Peter 5:10

Pastor: You will face personal trials, struggles, and suffering. In those times, plead to the Lord in prayer. Even in pain, and doubt, and fear, trust in His goodness and love:
All: When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.
Psalm 56:3

Give Me Faith

I need You to soften my heart
And break me apart
I need You to open my eyes
To see that You're shaping my life
All I am I surrender

Give me faith
To trust what You say
That You're good
And Your love is great
I'm broken inside
I give You my life

I need You to soften my heart
And break me apart
I need You to pierce through the dark
And cleanse every part of me
All I am I surrender

Give me faith
To trust what You say
That You're good
And Your love is great
I'm broken inside
I give You my life

I may be weak
But Your Spirit's strong in me
My flesh may fail
My God You never will
I may be weak
But Your Spirit's strong in me
My flesh may fail
My God You never will

Give me faith
To trust what You say
That You're good
And Your love is great
I'm broken inside
I give You my life

I may be weak
But Your Spirit's strong in me
My flesh may fail
My God You never will
I may be weak
But Your Spirit's strong in me
My flesh may fail
My God You never will

Scripture Reading

Acts 9:1-19 (NIV) - Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord's disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" "Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied. "Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything. In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, "Ananias!" "Yes, Lord," he answered. The Lord told him, "Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight." "Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your people in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name." But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name." Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit." Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, and after taking some food, he regained his strength. Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus.

Message

2 Corinthians 12:7 (NKJV) - And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9 (NKJV) - Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Did I do something to deserve this?
Why did this happen to me?
Am I being punished?
God, why don’t you remove the enemies in my life?
Why doesn’t God heal me?
Why doesn’t God open doors for me?
Is God still God when He says no?

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) - “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Prayers

If you are in need of prayer, we would love the opportunity to pray with you! You can post a prayer on our online prayer wall, or submit a private prayer to our prayer team.

The Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Blessing

Psalm 34:4 (NKJV) - I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Trust In God

Blessed assurance
Jesus is mine
He's been my fourth man in the fire
Time after time
Born of His Spirit
Washed in His blood
And what He did for me on Calvary
Is more than enough

I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail

Perfect submission
All is at rest
I know the author of tomorrow
Has ordered my steps
So this is my story
And this is my song
I’m praising my risen King and Savior
All the day long

I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail

I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
That’s why I trust Him
That’s why I trust Him

I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
That’s why I trust Him
That’s why

I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God
