I’m Not OK - There’s Too Much to Get Done

Welcome!

Mothers are God's blessing to families! But moms often feel exhausted, underappreciated, and operate on just a few hours of sleep. If that is you, we want to give you a safe place to say "I'm not OK!" God knows what you are facing. He has some guidance and encouragement for you today.

If you’re new here and want to find out a bit more about our service, have questions, or want to connect, click the button below. Thanks for joining us! We’re so glad you’re with us.

Celebrating Mothers

Pastor: God’s love is made known to us through the lives and actions of the people around us.

All: Lord, today we celebrate our mothers and the ways You have shown us Your love through them.

Pastor: In the beginning, God spoke and new life came forth.

All: We thank You, Creator, for mothers who brought us into this world.

Pastor: God opens His hand and satisfies the desires of every living thing.

All: We thank You for mothers who have provided for all of our bodily needs day after day.

Pastor: God reveals His plan to us through the life of His Son, Jesus.

All: We thank You for mothers who shared the Scriptures with us.

Pastor: God sees us in distress, and He seeks to gather us together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings.

All: We thank You for mothers who reached out to hold us when we were surrounded by sorrow and pain.

Pastor: God lifts us up on eagles’ wings and allows us to soar.

All: We thank You for mothers who supported us and gave us the confidence to go out on our own.

Pastor: God rejoices over us with gladness and exalts over us with loud singing.

All: We thank You for mothers who joyfully join us in songs of praise to You, Almighty God.

Pastor: Through their examples of faith, work, and love,

All: our mothers reflect the love of our Lord Jesus!

Confession & Forgivness

Pastor: Our God is faithful. He has promised that He will forgive whatever sins we bring before Him. Let us confess our sins to God our Father.

All: I confess to You and to one another that I have sinned both in my actions and in my failure to act. Lord, sometimes I feel overwhelmed and ready to give up when it seems there is just too much to get done. Because of that, my family and those close to me have not received love as You have commanded. Forgive me. Grant me pardon and peace.  Free me from my sin, for the sake of Jesus Christ, Your Son. Amen.

Pastor: Your home can be a place of peace because we have been forgiven and restored. Jesus has conquered sin and death and mends messy, broken families. You don't need to be ashamed or afraid, because you are a Child of God.

How Can It Be

I am guilty
Ashamed of what I've done
What I've become
These hands are dirty
I dare not lift them up
To the Holy One

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free

I've been hiding
Afraid I've let You down
Inside I doubt
That You still love me
But in Your eyes
There's only grace now

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be yeah
How can it be

Though I fall You can make me new
From this death I will rise with You
Oh the grace reaching out for me
How can it be
How can it be

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be yeah
How can it be

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 40:28-31 (NIV) - Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Message

“Healing for the Momma Who Needs Peace, Security & Rest”

“Does Your Soul Need Rest this Mother’s Day?”

You are pleasing to God:
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning the sixth day. (Genesis 1:31)

You are made by God:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:13-14)

God is perfecting you:
…confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)

God enables you:
Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. (2 Corinthians 3:5)

God has provided His Spirit:
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)

God is your helper:
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:2)

God provides you with wisdom and guidance:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6)

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (ESV) - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

Compassion

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds
Thy hands have made
I see the stars
I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power through out
The universe displayed

Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art

When through the woods
And forest glades I wander
And hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze

Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art

And when I think
That God His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die
I scarce can take it in
That on the cross
My burden gladly bearing
He bled and died
To take away my sin

Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art

When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
And take me home
What joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim
My God how great Thou art

Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art

Prayer

If you are in need of prayer, we would love the opportunity to pray with you! You can post a prayer on our online prayer wall, or submit a private prayer to our prayer team.

The Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Communion

The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod holds the Biblical teaching that in Communion we receive the true body and blood of Jesus Christ with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the Biblical teaching of the real presence of the Christ in this meal and grace through faith in Christ, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please join with the fellowship of disciples in Holy Communion.

“Everyone should examine themselves first, and then eat the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29)

Blessing

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV) - Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Who You Say I Am

Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am

Free at last He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am

I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
