Confession & Forgiveness

Pastor: Holy and merciful Father, we confess to You that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone.

Pastor: For the moments we are ready to explode at others.

All: Accept our repentance, O Lord.

Pastor: For our failure to love our neighbors as ourselves,

All: Accept our repentance, O Lord.

Pastor: For our holding on to grudges and refusing to forgive others as You have forgiven us,

All: Accept our repentance, O Lord.

Pastor: For the times we do not speak well of others or put the best construction on our other's words and actions,

All: Accept our repentance, O Lord.

Pastor: For our arrogance toward others,

All: Accept our repentance, O Lord.

Pastor: Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name.

The Way

Through every battle
Through every heartbreak
Through every circumstance
I believe that You are my fortress
You are my portion
You are my hiding place
I believe You are

The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are
The Way the Truth the Life
I believe

Through every blessing
Through every promise
Through every breath I take
I believe that You are provider
You are protector
You are the One I love
I believe You are

The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are
The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are

It's a new horizon
And I'm set on You
And You meet me here today
With mercies that are new
All my fears and doubts
They can all come too
Because they can't stay long
When I'm here with You
It's a new horizon
And I'm set on You
And You meet me here today
With mercies that are new
All my fears and doubts
They can all come too
Because they can't stay long
When I believe you are

The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are
The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are

It's a new horizon
And I'm set on You
And You meet me here today
With mercies that are new
All my fears and doubts
They can all come too
Because they can't stay long
When I believe You are

The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are
The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are

Scripture Reading

Colossians 3:12-17 (NIV) - Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

STP KIDS Dismissal

STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Message

Philippians 4:5-6 (NIV) - Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Ephesians 4:26 (NIV) - "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry

Matthew 5:21-22 (NLT) - "You have heard that our ancestors were told, 'You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.' But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.”

1. Be aware of anger
2. Get perspective on your anger
3. Refine your anger

Prayer

If you are in need of prayer, we would love the opportunity to pray with you! You can post a prayer on our online prayer wall, or submit a private prayer to our prayer team.

Communion

The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod holds the Biblical teaching that in Communion we receive the true body and blood of Jesus Christ with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the Biblical teaching of the real presence of the Christ in this meal and grace through faith in Christ, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please join with the fellowship of disciples in Holy Communion.

“Everyone should examine themselves first, and then eat the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29)

The Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Blessing

James 1:19-20 (NIV) - My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because our anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Lord I Need You

Lord I come I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the one that guides my heart

Lord I need You
Oh I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense
My righteousness
Oh God how I need You

Where sin runs deep
Your grace is more
Where grace is found
Is where You are
And where You are
Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Lord I need You
Oh I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense
My righteousness
Oh God how I need You

So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus You're my hope and stay

Lord I need You
Oh I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense
My righteousness
Oh God how I need You
You're my one defense
My righteousness
Oh God how I need You

My one defense
My righteousness
Oh God how I need You
