Greeting & Announcements
God designed children to watch you, to imitate you, and become a version of you... for better or worse. So the question for you is: how are you living out your faith, and is that what you want the kids around you to grow up and imitate? We are all a part of a family - may I challenge you to join Jesus as a family?
Call to Action
Pastor: We know that faith is not just about what we say but is shown through our actions. The Bible teaches us that if we truly believe in God’s word, our deeds will reflect that belief.
All: But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. (James 1:22 (NLT))
Pastor: Each act of kindness, compassion, and love that we show to others makes our faith come alive. It’s a reminder that we should not only profess our beliefs but also live them out daily.
All: Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. (1 John 3:18 (NLT))
Pastor: By bringing faith to life through our actions, we not only grow closer to God but also inspire those around us. Our actions can lead others to Him, displaying His love and grace in tangible ways.
All: Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
Goodness Of God
I love You Lord
Oh Your mercy never fails me
All my days
I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
I will sing of the goodness of God
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest night
You are close like no other
I've known You as a father
I've known You as a friend
I have lived in the goodness of God
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
With my life laid down
I’m surrendered now
I give You everything
Your goodness is running after
It's running after me
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
With my life laid down
I’m surrendered now
I give You everything
Your goodness is running after
It's running after me
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God
I will sing of the goodness of God
Scripture Reading
1 John 3:16-18 (NIV) - This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
STP KIDS Dismissal
STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!
Message
Psalm 3:5 (NIV) - “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.”
Psalm 27:14 (TLB) - “…once again I will see his goodness to me here in the land of the living.”
Psalm 42:5 (NLT) - “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God”
Psalm 51:12 (TLB) - “Restore to me again the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.”
Psalms 126:4, 6 (MSG) - “And now, GOD, do it again—so those who went off with heavy hearts will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing.”
The Apostles Creed - I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate. Was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 (NIV) - We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Confession & Forgiveness
Questions and answers from the Small Catechism
Pastor: Do you believe that you are a sinner?
All: Yes, I believe it; I am a sinner.
Pastor: How do you know this?
All: From the Ten Commandments; these I have not kept.
Pastor: Are you sorry for your sins?
All: Yes, I am sorry that I have sinned against God.
Pastor: What have you deserved of God by your sins?
All: His wrath and displeasure, temporal death, and eternal damnation.
Pastor: Do you also hope to be saved?
All: Yes, that is my hope.
Pastor: In whom then do you trust?
All: In my dear Lord Jesus Christ.
Pastor: What has Christ done for you that you trust in Him?
All: He died for me and shed His blood for me on the cross for the forgiveness of sins.
Pastor: Why should we remember and proclaim His death?
All: First, so we may learn to believe that no creature could make satisfaction for our sins. Only Christ, true God and man, could do that. Second, so we may learn to be horrified by our sins, and to regard them as very serious. Third, so we find joy and comfort in Christ alone, and through faith in Him be saved.
Pastor: What motivated Christ to die and make full payment for your sins?
All: His great love to His Father and for me and other sinners.
Pastor: As you believe, so let it be. In the stead and by the command of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I forgive you all your sins, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
John 20:21 (NIV) - Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
Do It Again
Walking around these walls
I thought by now they'd fall
But you have never failed me yet
Waiting for change to come
Knowing the battle's won
For you have never failed me yet
Your promise still stands
Great is your faithfulness
Faithfulness
I'm still in your hands
This is my confidence
You've never failed me yet
I know the night won't last
Your word will come to pass
My heart will sing your praise again
Jesus you're still enough
Keep me within your love
My heart will sing your praise again
Your promise still stands
Great is your faithfulness
Faithfulness
I'm still in your hands
This is my confidence
You've never failed
Your promise still stands
Great is your faithfulness
Faithfulness
I'm still in your hands
This is my confidence
You've never failed me yet
I've seen you move
You move the mountains
And I believe
I'll see you do it again
You made a way
Where there was no way
And I believe
I'll see you do it again
I've seen you move
You move the mountains
And I believe
I'll see you do it again
You made a way
Where there was no way
And I believe
I'll see you do it again
I've seen you move
You move the mountains
And I believe
I'll see you do it again
You made a way
Where there was no way
And I believe
I'll see you do it again
I'll see you do it again
You've never failed me yet
I never will forget
You've never failed me yet
I never will forget
