An Answer to Prayer

Ever seem like God isn’t answering your prayers?

Perhaps you know that God loves you. So you assume the problem must be you.

This week will help you see that you can pray confidently, knowing that even if God doesn’t “fix” your problems the way you want them to be fixed, He hears your prayers and answers in His perfect way.

The Weekly Prayer Project

Week 20: GOD ANSWERS

In 2026 we are following "The Weekly Prayer Project" - a challenge to journal, pray, reflect, and connect with God. Discover what God is doing in your life through a Scriptural promise each week. Be sure to pick up a book at the Welcome Center or request one at prayer@stpetersedina.org.

Fill out a Connect Card so we know you were with us and can provide answers to questions you may have. Please worship with us again soon.

Godly Homes…

where we experience God’s presence.

“My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” Isaiah 32:18

St. Peter’s is praying for you because your home is located at the intersection of faith and real life.

Have questions about prayer?

You are invited to spend some time building a richer life of prayer. After worship on Sunday morning, we have a discussion and encouragement for your prayer life around a video teaching by Michael DeFazio, professor of New Testament theology at Ozark Christian College. We will explore how to pray, what to pray, answer questions about prayer, and engage in many other topics surrounding prayer in order to expand your knowledge of communicating with our Father.

This week: Common Questions About Prayer

Grab some coffee and a treat and join us at 10:45am after worship in the Discipleship Room just to the right as you leave the sanctuary. All are welcome.

Get Your Unlabeled Theatre Company Tickets

The new show, Once Upon a Mattress runs through May 24. The actors have worked hard preparing to make you smile. Come see the difference when labels are removed and young men and women truly put their hearts into their performance. Your attendance makes both the actors and shadow partners feel valued!

Our own Rachel Moquist and Mason Green are pictured in a moment of the performance. Don’t lose sight about how special these young actors are! Experience it for yourself this week.

Here is an amazing quote from the article about Once Upon a Mattress.

“We often focus on our own enjoyment of a show, which is important, of course. But in a production like this, what stands out first is how much the cast is enjoying themselves, and that joy is infectious.”

Vada Ewald Memorial Service

A family led celebration of life will be held for Vada Ewald at St. Peter’s on Friday, May 29, at 11:30am. Here children and grandchildren have put together a memorial to honor her life and celebrate her faith. It includes glimpses of women of faith in the Bible and the influence they had on their families and friends. You are invited to participate.

Memorial gifts are requested for VEAP food pantry - one of her fond volunteer service opportunities through the years.

What are you listening to?

The Lutheran Hour shares the hope of Jesus with hundreds of thousands of people each week. For many, it’s a moment of encouragement in the middle of a busy life. A reminder of God’s grace. A message that meets you right where you are.

More and more people are now accessing messages, devotions,a nd spiritual conversations online—through digital platforms and streaming services that make it possible to listen anytime, anywhere.

On a commute.
During a break.
On a walk.
In a quiet moment at the end of the day.

Moments when you might need to hear that Good News most.

GENESIS

No… not the car. Long before that name was a brand of vehicle - our God created the world out of nothing. Humanity was part of that creation. The Creator wants an ongoing relationship with you!

Alright men, it is a perfect time to join a small group that gathers every Friday from 7:30-8:30am. We began our study on May 8 but only got through the intro and the first few verses in Genesis. Bring your questions, prepare to see the story from before time began, and be challenged to see if it makes a difference in the way you live.

Contact Lowell (612-875-4185) if you want to receive a copy of the book we will use to guide our study. It is massive so you will want to start reading. We move fast. We dig deep. We apply what we learn in practical ways. There is a place for you at the table - and a donut.

The Chosen Bible Study

You have been to the place of the cross and the empty tomb. Join a group of men and women who follow Jesus from the very beginning of His ministry in a dramatic way! Starting with Season 1 of “The Chosen” you will read the Bible sections in the Old and New Testament where it all began.

Wednesday mornings at 10:00am in the Discipleship Room at St. Peter’s. Everything is provided - you have been chosen!

St. Peter’s Security Team

We’re excited to introduce a new Security Team to help ensure a welcoming and secure environment for everyone during our worship service. Each service will have two trained team members on duty, one in the sanctuary and one in the commons area, who can be easily identified by their orange lanyards. Their presence is simply to provide support and respond if any needs arise, so you can feel comfortable and focused during worship. If you ever need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to them!

We love it when you worship with us!

Your life is full. When you can’t worship in person, be sure to view the weekly message on the St Peter’s-Edina YouTube channel.

May we add you to our weekly email list so that you get a reminder with a link and the weekly announcements as well?

Japanese Fellowship Church Lutheran

St. Peter’s has a long history of supporting and encouraging immigrants! A Japanese-English bilingual congregation has been serving South Minneapolis for 49 years. They have a new pastor, Kazuhiro Sekino who has been meeting with Pastor Mark and other pastors in the Minneapolis Metro Circuit. What a great partnership.
