Welcome!
It's an invitation - but not for an event. It is an invitation to pour out your heart.
Will you?
Greeting and Announcements
Invocation
Pastor: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Pour Out Your Heart
Pastor: Truly my soul finds rest in God;
All: my salvation comes from Him.
Pastor: Truly He is my rock and my salvation;
All: He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
Pastor: Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
All: my hope comes from Him.
Pastor: My salvation and my honor depend on God;
All: He is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Pastor: Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him,
All: for God is our refuge.
Trust In God
Blessed assurance
Jesus is mine
He's been my fourth man in the fire
Time after time
Born of His Spirit
Washed in His blood
And what He did for me on Calvary
Is more than enough
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
Perfect submission
All is at rest
I know the author of tomorrow
Has ordered my steps
So this is my story
And this is my song
I’m praising my risen King and Savior
All the day long
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
That’s why I trust Him
That’s why I trust Him
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
That’s why I trust Him
That’s why
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God
My Savior the One
Who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God
Scripture Reading
Matthew 11:25-30 (NIV) - At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
STP KIDS Dismissal
STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!
Message
Psalm 62:8 (NIV) - Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
“calling upon God in every trouble.” Pastor Martin Luther
He is my rock / my salvation / my fortress / my refuge
If You But Trust In God To Guide You
If you but trust in God to guide you
And place your confidence in Him
You'll find Him always there beside you
To give you hope and strength within
For those who trust Gods changeless love
Build on the Rock that will not move
What gain is there in futile weeping
In helpless anger and distress
If you are in His care and keeping
In sorrow will He love you less
For He who took for you a cross
Will bring you safe through every loss
In patient trust await His leisure
In cheerful hope with heart content
To take what-e'er your Fathers pleasure
And all discerning love have sent
Doubt not your inmost wants are known
To Him who chose you for His own
Sing pray and keep His ways unswerving
Offer your service faithfully
And trust His word though undeserving
You'll find His promise true to be
God never will forsake in need
The soul that trusts in Him indeed
Confession / Forgiveness
Pastor: Merciful God, You invite us to pour out our hearts before You, yet we often hold back. We carry burdens You never asked us to carry. We hide sins You already know. We cling to fears You long to calm. Forgive us for our silence, our self‑reliance, and our hesitation to trust You.
All: I pour out my heart to You:
Lord, here is my fear.
Lord, here is my confusion.
Lord, here is my doubt.
Lord, here is my burden.
Receive what I pour out today—my sin, my sorrow, my need—and create in us clean hearts that rest in You alone.
Pastor: Hear the good news: God is your refuge, and in Jesus Christ He has already carried your sin. By His cross you are forgiven. By His resurrection you are made new. By His Spirit you are strengthened to trust Him at all times.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit—you are forgiven and you are held in His care.
Words of Institution / Communion Distribution
Holy Communion is offered to those who have been instructed in the Christian faith as confessed by the Lutheran Church. We believe that:
1) Jesus Christ is our only Lord and Savior from all sin, death, and the power of the devil;
2) the Risen Christ is really present in the Sacrament and that with the bread and wine we receive is His true Body and Blood; and
3) we resolve to dedicate our lives to the service of our Lord in His Body, the Church, by regular group worship, sacrificial giving, and thankful living.
If you have any questions please consult with the pastor.
Approach the altar on your own. Gluten-free hosts are available by requesting one from the communion server. Grape juice is located in the center ring of cups.
Prayer
If you are in need of prayer, we would love the opportunity to pray with you! You can post a prayer on our online prayer wall, or submit a private prayer to our prayer team. Speak with Pastor Mark if you desire personal prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Cornerstone
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name
Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord Lord of all
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord Lord of all
Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord Lord of all
When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne
Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord Lord of all
