Greeting & Announcements
The story is about a lost sheep, not a little lamb. It isn’t just little children who get lost. The shepherd in Jesus’ parable searched for the lost sheep until he found it. He didn’t say, “Let it find its own way back;” he didn’t give up. And God doesn’t give up on you either.
Invocation
Pastor: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
People: Amen.
Pastor: Our Lord Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd, I know My own and my own know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
All: And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice. So there will be one flock, one Shepherd.”
Confession & Forgiveness
Pastor: “We all like sheep have gone astray; we have turned–every one–to our own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6)
Pastor: We confess together:
All: Lord, we truly have wandered away from our Shepherd. We have chosen our own way instead of living under your care. We have sinned in what we have done and in what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
Pastor: Yet You sent Your Son Jesus to be our Savior. He has become our true Shepherd, going out into the wilderness to find us when we were lost and then bringing us home rejoicing.
All: Forgive our wandering sins, Dear Lord, and let us rejoice every day over the Savior who has found us when we were lost.
Pastor: In the mercy of Almighty God, Jesus Christ was given to die for us, and for His sake God forgives us all our sins. To those who believe in Jesus Christ He gives the power to become children of God and bestows on them the Holy Spirit. May the Lord, who has begun this good work in us, bring it to completion in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
All: Amen.

Scripture Reading
Matthew 18:12-14 (NIV) - "What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
STP KIDS Dismissal
STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!

Communion
The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod holds the Biblical teaching that in Communion we receive the true body and blood of Jesus Christ with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the Biblical teaching of the real presence of the Christ in this meal and grace through faith in Christ, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please join with the fellowship of disciples in Holy Communion.
“Everyone should examine themselves first, and then eat the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29)
