Ready to get to know Jesus better? If so, you need to hear from Him. The best way to do that is to open the gospels and simply join the crowds following Jesus around, listening to what He actually said, watching what He actually did, and really wrestling with what He means.
Time to Throw a Party?
Pastor: The first step to throw a party is the invitation. An invitation includes the name of the host.
All: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor: Who should we invite?
All: Our friends, our neighbors, our family.
Pastor: Who was invited to parties in the Bible?
All: Foreigners, tax-collectors, prostitutes, sinners.
Pastor: Jesus welcomed all.
All: He defended the widows. He sat beside the guilty. He comforted the lonely. He served those forgotten.
Pastor: Let's throw a party - Jesus will join us!
All: There is love, freedom, and power in His name.

Scripture Reading
Matthew 9:9-13 (NIV) - As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' STP KIDS Dismissal
STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!
